This website started as a creative outlet during the pandemic and has morphed into a small passion project and portfolio site. It all started by follow a blog tutorial series by SentDex on Youtube. From there it has spiraled into me learning a lot about web development. One of the most interesting things was using this site to test out a facial recognition sign in system.
On the technical side of things, this site was built using a Django backend and bootstrap for the frontend. Web hosting is set up through Heroku. Then I use the AWS S3 system to store static files and AWS Route 53 as a DNS service to connect users to Garths.World.
This project has made me interested in exploring more areas of web development in the future. One project idea is a combination of fantasy football and music, inspired by the Music League site and app. My friends have talked about ways we could improve the format and I would like to give a shot at making my own version.
