Another year, another attempt at a graphic design for our summer trip. After somewhat of a lackluster design last year, I was hoping for a noticable jump in quality and I think this one delivers. My goal was to expand on the older geometric goat design; the 2023 goat had a simple, minimalist design with flat features.
This years addition introduces a new color palette with added shading to give the design more depth. My favorite new feature is the way the goat's chest blends into the mountain range to create the bottom border to the crest, creating a strong visual frame for the rest of the logo. The palette is stronger as well, built primarily around two core colors with several supporting shades mixed in. The goat faces towards the sun on the right side of the image where the warmer colors are concentrated. As the light curves around its body toward the left, cooler blues emerge in the shaded areas.
