3D Printed Dice Storage

3D Printing

I have been working on some 3D printed models for some friends. All the items have been customized for the person and all the items include some form of dice storage. I printed all of these models out on my PrusaMK2s MMU.

First up is the large sword with a leaf design. Removing the sheath reveals slots along the blade that hold a set of dice. For storage, the sheath neatly covers the contents within. The blade was printed with both color changing filament, and glow in the dark plastic. After printing, I wrapped the handle using red and black paracord to provide a grip. See the design here.

Next up is a shield with a tri-circled insignia on the front. For this design I experimented with designing and printing gears. A gear system on the backside of the part will open the front of the shield to reveal dice slots underneath.

This shield is printed in 15 parts that press fit together. Multimaterial printing allowed me to set up an intertwining pattern throughout the center of the shield and the gears allow a smooth open and closing mechanism. See the design here.

The third item is a hammer adorned with patterns across the face and handle. In this design I incorporated a handful of printed screws. The first is on the pommel of the handle where you can unscrew the base to reveal a shaft with dice storage. Four more are used to hold the multiple pieces of the head together.

Again, I used paracord to wrap around the handle and add to the aesthetic. See the design here.
